What is a word counter?
A word counter counts the words, characters, sentences and paragraphs in your text in real time. Writers, students and marketers use it to hit exact limits - a 500-word essay, a 280-character post, a meta description under 160 characters, or a cover letter that fits one page.
How the counts work
Words are counted by splitting on spaces and line breaks. Characters count every symbol including spaces; "no spaces" excludes them. Reading time assumes about 225 words per minute and speaking time about 130. Page estimates use roughly 500 words per single-spaced page.
